Instructional Designer and Facilitator
I lead out in proposing, designing, and facilitating the training of a staff wide, cross-functional and cross-office training on critical daily-use software to enhance understanding and capability of team members who praised the structure and simplicity to learn in the environment I created.
Before facilitation and presentation can begin, you have to start with instructional design. While at PwC, we had an internal firm software we used for many of our day-to-day job responsibilities, and it always takes time upfront to learn and use effectively. I proposed developing a 2-day software intensive training for multiple tax branches across multiple offices. I planned and prepared what would be covered, how, and who would be involved in helping teach various pieces of the software. I invited others to help teach in the structure of presenting and example followed by a practice that everyone could participate it to practice what they had just learned. This structure helped people learn the software processes quickly and efficiently. I received a lot of feedback from staff in attendance that it was the best training they had received on the software and wished they had that kind of training when they first started. This training solidified skills staff needed to have in preparing for their work in the software.
